As I write this, Tottenham have just knocked AC Milan out of the Champions League. Who'd have thunk it eh? I've had one eye on the match and another on my work, so I don't really feel able to write about it properly. Suffice to say that the goalless draw will have elated all those pesky Spurs fans no end. I'm obviously just jealous. What I really want to talk about though, is the epic goings on of yesterday.
Heavens to Betsy it was a bit sensational wasn't it?! My feeling as a Liverpool fan was simple. I wanted Arsenal to lose, because I need them to up their focus in the League and win that (anyone, anyone but Manchester United), so I was chuffed to bits with the result. Barcelona really were phenomenal and that Messi goal was, well, pretty darn tidy I'd say (ba-dum-boom-ch).
The talking point amongst Arsenal fans today was obviously the sending off of Van Persie, which ultimately sealed their fate. The decision was harsh to say the least, but in truth I doubt the result would have been much different had he stayed on. Barcelona we just better, plain and simple.
I'm obligated by one of my mates to mention the fact that Nicklas Bendtner is an idiot. He does like to give it the big bollocks a bit doesn't he? It would be all well and good, but for the fact that he messed up Arsenal's last chance and wasted a gem of a cross from Wilshire. Nobody has told him that actions speak louder than words, clearly...
Do I feel bad for Arsenal fans? Not even a little bit. Why? Because I'm bored of their whining. Really, really bored of it. Don't know they're born ;-)
Making me giggle
Yesterday I read my first interview with Benoit Assou-Ekotto. I 'lol-led' on the tube at least twice. This guy is not only funny, but he's to the point. I like it. I generally read an interview with a footballer at least every other day and thinking about it now, I'm not quite sure why. They all say the same thing and it's dull dull dull. That said, am I going to stop reading them? Nope. I can't, there's something wrong with me.
If you get the chance to read what this guy has to say, then do, at the very least it's different and therefore more interesting than the average tosh that the rest of them come out with.
